The victims of The Pink Triangle were hunted by Nazis, and later abandoned by history. Animated Frame by Frame by Walton Zed.

1h 12min | English
In the shadows of history, amidst the profound tragedy of the Holocaust, lies a story seldom told, that of the men with The Pink Triangle. These individuals, persecuted for their sexual orientation, found themselves ensnared in the terrifying machinery of the Nazi regime, facing unimaginable horrors for the simple truth of their existence. Our animated film seeks to illuminate this dark chapter of history, intertwining the themes of the Holocaust, civil rights, and the transformative power of animation to tell a story that has long remained in silence.

How Cel Animation Works
Disney's Animation Process Since 1938
The technique of cel animation, short for celluloid animation, has ancient origins and is deeply rooted in the history of animation. The earliest forms of animation date back to the 19th century with the invention of devices such as the phenakistoscope and the zoetrope, which created the illusion of motion through a rapid sequence of static images. However, the true revolution in cel animation occurred in the early 20th century with the emergence of animated cinema. Pioneers like Winsor McCay, Max Fleischer, and Walt Disney began experimenting with the technique of drawing on transparent acetate sheets to create more fluid and realistic animations.

In the 1920s and '30s, during the golden age of animation, cel animation became the standard method for producing cartoons. Iconic classics such as "Steamboat Willie" featuring Mickey Mouse (1928) and "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" (1937) were created using this technique. With the advent of computer graphics in the 1990s, cel animation began to be complemented and sometimes replaced by digital animation techniques. Today, cel animation is considered a vintage art form and a tribute to the history of animation that we will bring back to life.
